OUR STORY
It all began with my great-grandmother, a proud daughter of Kalymnos Island who moved to Athens in search of a better life. But when World War II broke out, she and her family faced deep poverty during occupation in Athens under Axis control.
My grandmother ─ one of the few in her family to survive ─ made a quiet promise to her mother: that one day, she would return to their beloved island. That promise, and her love for her birthplace, lived on in our family’s heart for four generations, guiding us gently back to our roots.
When I was six years old, my family bought this small, rundown hotel. It became our vacation refuge, a hidden corner of peace away from the world. Years later, with care and sacrifice, we transformed it into what it is today ─ a warm getaway for travelers seeking simplicity, beauty, and the timeless enchantment of the Aegean.
During the endless and unpredictable voyage of life, a moment of rest is sacred. Here, where the love of generations brought us back to our roots, we welcome you to pause by the sea... so you can continue your unique journey, reborn & renewed.

ABOUT KALYMNOS
A living tapestry of history, resilience and natural splendor.
For centuries, Kalymnos was known across the Mediterranan for its fearless sponge divers, who descended into the deep sea with only a stone weight and their breath. Their bravery and skill shaped the economy of the island and the very essence of Kalymnos, which became synonym of endurance, sacrifice and deep respect for the untamable ocean.
An island dressed in black.
For much of the 20th century, Kalymnos was known as "the island dressed in black". Each dive into the deep sea was a gamble of life and death. Whole genearations of men were lost to the depths, claimed by the dangers of the sea and the infamous "diver's sickness." The majority of households on the island had at least one man paralyzed or killed, so the island was in a constant state of mourning. Yet, Kalymnian men would continue to pursue the spongediver's career to provide for their family, despite the immesurable risk.
The spongediver tradition on our island is one of devastating grief and ferocious pride.

This is the Aegean at its most intimate and untamed.
Nature has shaped Kalymnos with a dramatic hand: rugged limestone cliffs rise above turquoise bays, making it a world-class climbing destination. Thrill-seeking climbers scale sunlit caves, while divers descend into crystal waters to explore and even swim alongside the island's wild dolphins.
Olive groves and wild thyme scent the wind, adding to the intoxicating aura of rough elegance. The island offers a rare balance of raw beauty and soft timeless calling of ancient lands.
